Soundproofing and Noise Control
Our Design Phases
What We Do In The Process
First of all, we will collect every available data and information from the designers. We will create assumptions about the function of the room. Then we will make initial recommendations about test and measurements that needed to be done.
During this phase of the process, we will take the information we’ve gathered and creating Studies of lighting goals, and room analysis. We will define daylighting and artificial lighting parameters including sun path, annual solar accumulation, Potential Photovoltaic Positioning, annual shadow mapping, shaders and light reflectors, lighting fixtures and lighting integration to meet Luminescence intensity standards to find the most efficient and effective way to create a beautiful functional lighting.
If needed, in this phase we also have the opportunity to make room assessment and measurement to compliment data collection for the design. You will also have the opportunity to request any modifications you’d like us to make to your preferred design. Once you have selected a design option that best suits your needs, we will begin the process of refining the design during the Design Development phase.
Once the basics are settled, at this stage we will continue from the approved schematic design. We will work with the architect, interior designer, and any other consultant to refine the design. We will carefully determine the openings, shader, luminaries, lighting calculations and energy simulations. Assure it meets all the defined parameters and responded beautifully in the room.
By now, we will have settled on a final design and will begin preparing drawings, notes, and technical specifications necessary for bidding, construction, and permit application. This is the phase that many people think of when they picture the work of an engineers – the creation of blueprints.
Contractors will use these detailed drawings and specifications to prepare for the next phase in the building process.
At the end of the phase the documents from the schematic design and design development phases should be updated in full detail. Additional documents will also be created and can vary depending on the scope of the project. A completed construction document set is highly technical and extensive and may include:
- Layout Plans: Drawings showing the Layout of the Lighting System.
- Key Details and Sections: Large scale drawings of every type of specific Day lighting and Artificial Lighting elements within the project.
- Simulation and Lighting Calculation Report: Documents of calculation and simulation for both Day lighting and Artificial Lighting, shown that the calculation meets the project criteria and all defined parameter.
Having a Lighting Consultants on your side during the bidding phase of home construction is of great advantage to you. We can aid you in developing a list of qualified vendors and contractors for your bid list and submitting bid packages to bidders. But we can also review submitted bids, provide analysis, and help you compare the cost figures that you receive from your bidders.
This phase will ensure the contractors you are considering for your construction project are reading the blueprints correctly and are providing an accurate bid for your project.
Finally, once you have selected a contractor and construction is under way, we move into the sixth phase of the building process – construction administration. During this phase, we will administer the construction process to assure conformance with design intent, visit the site during construction, and address any field conditions as they arise.
